With the drought last year it may be a good idea to shift to dry lots. That is where you feed the cattle until the crops come off and send them out to the field. They say you can feed them every two days and set out creep feed for them. For the grain you can mix distillers along with the silage, hay, or straw. This allows time for the pastures to grow back from last year and also take care of the crop leftovers off of the ground.
